Tourism / Visitors Info

It’s always a pleasure to welcome guests to our community! Whether you’re here for business or leisure, we invite you to discover the unsurpassed beauty and distinctive charm of this North Dakota Legendary town along the historical Lewis and Clark Trail. Located just fifteen minutes south of the third largest man-made lake in the United States, Hazen is the Heart of Sakakawea South Shore.

Hazen is perfectly positioned on the cusp of major economic activity that has recently captivated the nation. Strategically situated on the border of the Bakken and in between several energy plants and coal mines, Hazen’s energy-intensive industrial economy is booming. Our unemployment rate is nearly half that of the national average.

For the sports fan, Hazen is a touchdown, homerun, hat trick, slam dunk and hole in one! From adult recreational leagues to high school activities to little league, you’re always sure to score a game in this town! Our community also offers a diverse menu of cultural experiences as well. From June through September, we host a monthly summer concert series that takes place on Wednesday evenings in Heritage Park.

Over four miles of paved walking and biking trails wind around the city. These scenic pathways connect Hazen’s parks, baseball diamonds, football field and golf course; making it a breeze for athletes and spectators to float from one event to the next. It’s not uncommon to spot wildlife along the footpath. There’s nothing quite as breathtaking as the early morning flight of pheasants freshly flushed from Antelope Creek!

Hazen offers wide open spaces as far as the eye can see. Take in the beauty of wildlife in its natural environment. Swim, ski, soak up the sun on the glorious shores of Lake Sakakawea, hikes, bike, kayak the Missouri River, hunt, fish, tell tall tales around the campfire, shop, dine, raise your glass and unwind. Whatever your personal journey holds, Hazen is where your legend unfolds!

Sincerely,

Buster Langowski
